Cruise to Benefit NH Coastal Protection Partnership

Greenovations www.seacoastgreenovations.com  and Jewett Farms & Co. www.jewettfarms.com have teamed up to offer a free evening cruise to our guests and friends on-board the MV Thomas Leighton to benefit the NH Coastal Protection Partnership.  The cruise will embark from Portsmouth Harbor and sail out to Star Island (weather permitting) before returning.  Last year we had a glorious clear night with bright stars.

“NH Coast’s mission is to “combine sound science with education, collaboration and advocacy to protect the natural resources of the coastal watershed and effect long-term visible change. By creating partnerships with local watershed organizations, NH Coast seeks to improve the management, understanding and health of New Hampshire’s coastal waters to ensure thriving ecosystems and their continued capacity to serve vital ecological, economic, recreational and human needs.” The proceeds from the cruise will contribute to NH Coast’s Rain Barrel program, which promotes the use of rain barrels at local farmers markets and public events, and “make your own rain barrel” workshops and publications. Rain barrels are a free source of non-potable water that can be used for multiple gardening and household tasks. Not only do rain barrels save energy and money from going into municipal water supply and treatment, but it also helps prevent storm-water runoff from polluting our local rivers, lakes, wetlands and coastal waters.”
